This homeowner in Highland, California wanted to convert their bathtub into a shower to reduce the risk of slipping and falling when getting in and out of the shower. Bathrooms are the most dangerous room in the house, and this danger only increases the older we get. By removing the bathtub the risk of falling is reduced since the homeowner will not need to step over the tub anymore.

We started by removing the tub and taking out the tile wall surrounds. When we looked behind the wall, we noticed that water had been leaking into the wall through the crack where the tile met the normal wall. Fortunately for the homeowner, this would not be a problem once we are done since our full wall shower surrounds go all the way up to the ceiling. These beautiful acrylic wall surrounds are leak proof and antimicrobial to provide our homeowner with a safe and worry free shower experience.The homeowner chose to go with a natural granite finish on their wall surrounds. We replaced the homeowners old tub for a textured acrylic shower pan and we also put in a shower seat and some handle grab bars for added safety and stability.
